A few dates into a relationship, I like to pull "The Ride" test. That is, if I make it clear my only means of transportation to our meet spot is to walk, preferably in bad weather, will my date offer to pick me up?
I might decline, the point is to get the offer. It's a small gesture, but it's important and it speaks a lot to someone's character.
