It's Not Me, It's You!

by Peggy_oh
(Boston)

Visitors Story:
I was going out with a guy who I liked, but I wasn't totally in love with him. We had fun but deep down inside I knew he wasn't the ONE.

I had been waffling about breaking up with him, but it seemed silly to dump a nice guy just because I was hoping for something that might never come along.

Then one day he stood me up for one of our dates. He had a reasonable excuse, but I decided right then to end the relationship. Under normal circumstances I would have forgiven this, but I decided to use his "little mistake" as a reason to break up with him.

It may not have been the most honest way, but I seized upon his error so as not to have to look like the villain.
